Hi birds - the big day is getting close! Here are some details of when, where and what.
First, a reminder of what to wear: the birds' colors are brown, tan, cream, burnt orange, red. We could still use a handful of flag carriers, so if you have a friend who wants to be in the parade and can come with you wearing these colors, let us know.
The lineup for the parade starts at 25th and Bloomington. Because we are in Section 3 we will be on 25th, a few blocks east of Bloomington towards the Cedar Park. Look out for the big nest with a planet-earth egg in it. The birds are just in front of the nest. Please arrive by 12 noon at the latest, so that we can rehearse our flocking before the parade begins.
Please bring your own water with you! We will not be giving out bottles of water. It's also a good idea to bring sunscreen, some food, and extra clothes in case you get cold or wet.
During the parade - if you have any questions, problems, or feel unwell, please speak to me or Angie or to one of the other section leaders: Malia, Tina and Gustavo. .
After the parade:
You are welcome to take your birds home with you - apart from the ones on tall (12ft or so) canes, or on backpacks we have provided, which we need to have back. Please bring these, and any other puppets you don't want, to the parking lot at the edge of the park, where they will be loaded onto a truck.
All the stuff you've been making is looking fabulous - it's going to be great to see you all moving together!
Looking forward to seeing you soon
Emma
