Politically united Africa was once a cause championed by the late Pres. Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana. But then, that was in the sixties. I can bet he wouldn't continue with such a project, If he were to be alive today. The situation at his time was that which gave no room for a second thought on the issue. It was an atmosphere influenced much by the excitement of colonial independence across the continent.
The current AU chairman have long been advocating for United State of Africa (USA), and this is a leader that have just deported 140 Nigerians from Africa(Libya) to Africa(Nigeria) within 2 months of his AU chairmanship. Gaddafi's USA program is a journey to nowhere. Even if Africa will unite, the EU forces will not allow it because they always happy
seen the continent in chaos causing disintegration among Africans, hence felt contented when supplying foods to Somalia, Darfor etc.... while their Union kept expanding.

Ghadafi's USA program is a myopic vision-mission.No hope for Africa under Gaddafi and even if Africa will unite, not in his life time.

Subject: [isn] Libya deports 140 Nigerians.
The deportees, mostly young females, were conveyed to the MMIA aboard a chartered aircraft. Shortly after they were screened and released, many airport workers and motorists swarmed around them, asking questions about their fate in Libya. As they trooped out of the Hajj and Cargo terminal, many of the deportees who were cash-strapped, sought assistance to get to their various destinations.
There was also traffic snarl around the airport as motorists slowed down to ascertain the identities of the large number of people they were seeing. Seven ladies among the deportees, who spoke in Yoruba, claimed that they were deported after spending five months in detention camps in Libya.
``I Just thank God we are back to this country. Help us out," one of the ladies told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Some others, who loitered around the airport for hours, said that they were trying to connect those who would help them out of their travail.
NAN reports that the deportees were sent packing for immigration offences. The House of Representatives recently expressed concern at the large number of Nigerians in deportation camps in Libya, urging that steps should be taken to ensure that they returned home.
